Surface polariton with arbitrary dielectric and magnetic materials: New regimes and SP resonance in large frequency range
Abstract
SP dispersion is demonstrated at the interface of two mediums which at least one of the medium is magnetic. New regime of surface polariton resonance occurs if two mediums have almost equal permittivity constant or permeability constant. Normally, SP resonance happens at one frequency only. At the interface between dispersive medium 1 and dispersive medium 2 which has slightly different permittivity or permeability, surface polariton resonance in large frequency range can be achieved. This large frequency range of resonance is believed will lead to further novel effects and applications such as near field optic, enhancement of fluorescence and photoelectric devices.
