Cosmic Ray Telescope to Monitor Solar Activity
Abstract
The LAGO project (Large Aperture GRBs Observatory) Solar Program aims to study the modulations of the Galactic Cosmic Rays (GCRs) flux at ground level using Water Cherenkov Detectors (WCDs). GCRs flux is modulated by solar activity, making it an indicator of this activity. WCDs can measure different components of secondary particles at ground level (electromagnetic and muonic mainly). As part of this program a cosmic ray telescope is being developed operating two WCDs in coincidence mode. The advantage of using this setup of WCD is to allow the separation of electromagnetic and muonic components. First results of measurements of cosmic ray flux measured with this equipment are shown her
