WIYN Open Cluster Study: UBVRI Photometry of NGC 2420
Abstract
We present UBVRI observations of the metal-poor open cluster NGC 2420 taken under photometric conditions during 2002 February using the WIYN 0.9m telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory. We measured magnitudes in each image using point-spread-functions calculated using IRAF and DAOPHOT then added empirically determined aperture corrections. Comparison of color-color diagrams for the cluster fiducials to the Hyades yields a reddening and metallicity while comparison of color-magnitude diagrams to the Yale-Yonsei 2002 isochrones yields a distance modulus and an age.
