AGILE and SNRs: A comparison between W44 and W28
Abstract
Supernova remnants (SNRs) are believed to be the sources of hadronic Cosmic-Rays (CRs). During its five years of life, the AGILE γ-ray satellite observed several SNRs, collecting a great amount of data together with the Fermi satellite. Two middle-aged SNRs, W28 and W44, are very interesting sources in this context. We started a theoretical and experimental comparison between these important sources in order to clarify the processes that could affect CR acceleration and propagation.
