A Research on Deformation Front at Tainan offshore
Abstract
Deformation front is a dividing line that distinguishes between two different geological regions in Taiwan, the east-west compressional force is impactting the substance of the deformation front east . In 1982, scholars defined the thrust fault connection located in the west on land of Taiwan as tectonic front. Until between 1995 and 1999, Taiwan and France jointly project called "Active Collision in Taiwan", the report was formally put forward the name and define it geographical location. In 2005, Yu has used more comprehensive Earth exploration data once again redefined the position of the deformation front of the waters southwest of Taiwan. This study will focus on Yu's discourse as the focal point for further discussion. Off the coast in the southwest of Taiwan, if we can define the location of the deformation front, will be able to clearly see the obvious pressure change regional boundaries. In our survey, multibeam information has seen the wide range of horst structure and collapse in Tainan, outside the sea-bed, apparently generated by the tension. Structure and the deformation front closely adjacent.
