Chemistry Climate Interactions Studies within the Regional Climate Model RegCM4.3

We present an overview of the latest developments dealing with atmospheric chemistry and aerosol interactive coupling in the latest version of the ICTP regional climate model RegCM4.3. The emphasis will be put on the implementation of gas phase and aerosol scheme, interactions between chemical tracers and convection (transport, Linox sources, removal processes) , upper troposphere representation, surface sources, and chemical boundary conditions. Examples of application will be given focusing on ozone and aerosol in Africa and the tropical Atlantic biomass burning outflow.
