Rotation curve of the Galaxy from the motions of open star clusters
Abstract
Series of numerical statistical experiments were made to study the effect of random and systematic errors in the estimation of the rotation curve obtained using optical data. It was shown that modern proper motions of the open clusters contain enough information about the rotation of the Galaxy. By means of the radial velocity and proper motion data of the open clusters together with modern observational data of neutral hydrogen for the inner part of the Galaxy, the rotation curve for the interval of distances R=3--15 kpc was constructed. The obtained rotation curve is not increasing.
