Aqua and A-Train Data Sets available from the NASA Langley Atmospheric Science Data Center
Abstract
The A-Train satellite formation offers unprecedented opportunities to study the Earth and its atmosphere. The A-train provides nearly coincident measurements of the radiation budget, clouds, aerosols, water, and chemical constituents of the Earth-Atmosphere system. The NASA Langley Atmospheric Science Data Center (ASDC) provides data access and tools to the Clouds and the Earth's Radiant Energy System (CERES), Cloud-Aerosol Lidar and Infrared Pathfinder Satellite Observations (CALIPSO), and the Tropospheric Emission Spectrometer (TES) data products. With the Terra satellite still collecting information, the NASA Langley ASDC provides data access to extended data records from CERES, the Multi-angle Imaging SpectroRadiometer (MISR) and Measurements Of Pollution In The Troposphere (MOPITT), which will lead to a better understanding of the role of clouds and aerosols in global climate change.
