Conuel, Wesleyan University; and D. Reichart, K. Ivarsen, J. Haislip, A. Crain, D. Foster, M. Nysewander, and A. LaCluyze, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, on behalf of the CHASE project, report their discovery of an apparent supernova (mag approximately 14.3 +/- 0.2) on an unfiltered image taken on June 27.05 UT with the 0.41-m 'PROMPT 1' telescope located at Cerro Tololo. The new object, which was confirmed at mag approximately 13.7 in an unfiltered image taken with the 'PROMPT 3' telescope on June 29.99, is located at R.A. = 10h25m28s.99 +/- 0".1, Decl. = -39o49'51".2 +/- 0".1 (equinox 2000.0), which is about 1".6 east and 12".4 south of center of the galaxy NGC 3244. Nothing is visible at this position on archival images taken on May 1.01 (limiting mag 18.5) and Apr. 28.02 (limiting mag 18.0).
