Completion of Visible Contours
Abstract
We show how to reconstruct a possible completion of the visible contour of a smooth compact surface, i.e. that part of the contour that is directly visible. The result obtained by the described algorithm is often far from optimal, however the main purpose here is to show that at least one reconstruction is possible, whereas selecting a good solution will not be addressed.
More precisely we prove that, given an oriented plane graph Γ0 having as vertices only T-junctions and nonexterior terminal points, there exists an apparent contour Γ such that Γ0b is the visible part of Γ.- Publication:
