The Holocene Asian Monsoon discrepancies between Southwest China and Northern Vietnam
Abstract
Stalagmite inferred Monsoon strength records showed that the AM was primarily influenced by summer insolation, however, with regional differences. The ~6.5 ka enrichment transition of stalagmite d18O in Northern Vietnam was observed while no any significance in Dongge records. It was related to slightly rising sea level and SST in the North South China Sea. Also, the southward moving of ITCZ reduced ISM, and then the depleted d18O supplement in East Asia was decreased. Coupled of these phenomenon might explain the discrepancies between Chinese and Vietnamese records.
