WIYN Open Cluster Study: UBVRI Photometry of Open Cluster NGC 1817
Abstract
We present UBVRI CCD observations of the open star cluster NGC 1817, taken under photometric conditions using the WIYN 0.9m telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory. Cluster stellar magnitudes were measured using point-spread-functions, with empirically determined aperture corrections--both allowed to vary spatially. Color-color and color-magnitude diagrams, the Hyades sequences, and Yale-Yonsei isochrones were employed to derive: [Fe/H] = -0.21+/-0.1, E(B-V) = 0.20+/-0.01, (m-M)V = 11.67+/-0.1, and age = 1.3+/-0.1 Gyr, where errors are internal.
