The generation and stability of second-harmonic in electron-beam irradiated GeS 2-In 2S 3-CdS chalcogenide glasses
Abstract
Second Harmonic Generation was observed in the electron-beam irradiated GeS 2-In 2S 3-CdS chalcogenide glasses, which were induced by the frozen-in electric field due to the electron-beam irradiation. The Second Harmonic Intensity increased with the increasing of the irradiating current and time. The stability of second harmonic generation studying showed that the χ started to decay till zero when the glasses were annealed above room temperature. It was supposed that the strength of the frozen-in electric field decreased to zero during the annealing process.
