Swift/BAT detects renewed activity from Ginga 1843+009
Abstract
As part of its hard X-ray transient monitor program, the Burst Alert Telescope on Swift has detected a brightening of the transient X-ray pulsar Ginga 1843+009. The source first became detectable on March 6, 2009, rising to a peak daily average brightness of 0.018 ± 0.001 counts/s/cm2, corresponding to ~80 mCrab in the 15-50 keV band, on March 10, 2009 (MJD 543900). The highest flux seen in a single Swift pointing was 0.024 ± 0.05 counts/ s/cm2 (110 mCrab) in a 744 s observation starting at 21:44:32 UT on March 9, 2009.
