On the possibility of a non arbitrary statistical definition of rain event: the case of stratiform rain
Abstract
We argue that it is possible to define in a non arbitrary way what a rain event is, in the case of stratifrom precipitation, using the observed invariant statistical properties of the sequence of inter drop time intervals and drop diameters.
