Coronal Plasma Motions Revealed from Spectroscopic Observations with Hinode EIS
Abstract
The author tries to understand why the solar corona is heated to a temperature of 106K, in other words, how the energy of photospheric granular motions is transferred via magnetic fields and dissipated at the coronal height from observations with three telescopes on the Hinode spacecraft. An initial result from Hinode EUV spectroscopic observations on the motions of coronal plasmas near footpoints of coronal loops is briefly introduced.
