Gluon condensate, Wilson loops and gauge/string duality
Abstract
We test gauge/string duality by evaluating expectation values of small Wilson loops in pure Yang-Mills theories. On the gauge theory side, there exists a rich phenomenology. The dual formulation provides a universal language to evaluate the gluon condensate and quadratic correction in terms of the metric in the fifth coordinate. Quantitatively, the estimated value of the gluon condensate is approximately 0.010GeV4.
