Wind and STEREO - Combined Observations
Abstract
After serving to facilitate intercorrelation, the Wind spacecraft will provide a third point from which observations can be made for the remainder of the mission. In this paper, we analyze the orbits and compare the instrumentation of the two spacecraft. Apart from magnetic field and plasma correlations as a function of distance in several directions and time, Wind and STEREO will explore both magnetic and plasma structures as they are convected past in the solar wind, collecting, for example, a statistical data base related to magnetic clouds. Other similar examples will be discussed.
