The AMS02 Transition Radiation Detector (trd) - a Gasfilled Detector for the International Space Station
Abstract
The AMS02-Experiment (Alpha Magnetic Spectrometer) is a particle detector designed to operate on board the International Space Station (ISS) for at least three years [1]. The physics goals of this experiment is to perform a precise and long-term measurement of the primary cosmic radiation and search for exotic particle candidates, such as SUSY-WIMPS - the most promising candidates for Cold Dark Matter. One of the subsystems of AMS02 is a gasfilled Transition Radiation Detector (TRD) which will be used for particle separation at high energy ranges.
