Supernova 2006ej in NGC 191A
Abstract
Further to IAUC 8736, R. Mostardi, H. Khandrika, and W. Li report the LOSS discovery of an apparent supernova on unfiltered KAIT images taken on Aug. 23.39 (at mag 16.4) and 24.38 UT (mag 14.7). SN 2006ej is located at R.A. = 0h38m59s.77, Decl. = -9o00'56".6 (equinox 2000.0), which is 6".2 west and 4".6 south of the nucleus of NGC 191A, the southeast component of the interacting galaxy pair Arp 127 (the other component being NGC 191). A KAIT image taken on Aug. 14.40 showed nothing at this position (limiting mag 19.3).
