Introduction to how Google acquires and processes imagery. Creating your own data within Earth or converting it from other formats. Presenting data and sharing it publicly online. Topics will include: BASE IMAGERY: resolution; high resolution coverage; sources/frequency of acquisition; legal compliance IMAGE TILES: methods of tessellation; methods/thoughts on color matching & "checkered" appearance of base imagery DATA SHARING: thoughts/ideas/plans for rendering WMS data natively, support of third party formats TOOLS: current plans/thoughts for more advanced mapping/analysis tools in GE
