Going chiral: twisted mass versus overlap fermions
Abstract
We compare overlap fermions, which are chirally invariant, and Wilson twisted mass fermions in their approach to the chiral limit. Quenched simulations reveal that with both formulations of lattice fermions pion masses of O(230 MeV) can be reached in practical simulations. We also discuss dynamical simulations employing Wilson twisted mass fermions.
