The density structure of the Pingtung plain in southern Taiwan from gravity data
Abstract
In this study, we have complied the gravity data (roughly 50 km x 50 km) of the Pingtung Plain and its surrounding area. To gain a better understanding in the Pingtung Plain, the gravity data were surveyed (average spacing of 500 m) in summer, 2005. After gravity reductions, the Bouguer anomaly map was constructed. This research choose two profiles (one is E-W; the other is N-S) to simulate the subsurface density structures by the Bouguer anomaly. We want to confer why the lowest anomaly area is in the Likang and how the density structure beneath Pingtung plain. Besides, we build the three-dimensional and construct roughly geological structure model for the three-dimensional forward calculation.
