Current Status and Future Prospects of Inorganic Scintillator Research

From a scintillator properties perspective the three most important parameters for the ELOISATRON calorimeter are 1) scintillator density, 2) scintillation speed, and 3) energy resolution. In this paper the limits on these three properties are explored, and the current status and future perspectives treated. Possible strategies for developing future scintillators are addressed.
