Interactions of low-power radio galaxies with their hot-gas environments
Abstract
We present new XMM-Newton observations of the hot-gas atmospheres of two low-power twin-jet radio galaxies, 3C 66B and 3C 449. Our images of the extended emission surrounding the two radio galaxies provide new evidence of the influence of environment on radio structure, and the XMM-Newton data additionally allow us to measure physical conditions in the environments and relate them to the dynamics of the radio sources.
