PICsIT, the IBIS High-Energy Detection Plane: Instrument Status and Scientific Performance Results
Abstract
The latest results of the ongoing analysis of the functional behaviour and scientific performance of IBIS/PICsIT is presented. Instrument health monitoring is now performed by scanning the complete archive of PICsIT data. Background count rate, detector temperatures, single pixel gain behave as expected. Variations on short timescales are under investigation. The observations of Crab and Cygnus X-1 demonstrate that the imaging capabilities are as expected: the point source location accuracy is ~5' for a ~10 sigma detection in the ~250-350 keV band. Crab observations have been performed with different pointing modes and off-axis angles (all within the fully coded field of view).
