Flavour Independent Higgs Searches at LEP-2
Abstract
Searches for hadronically decaying neutral Higgs bosons, conducted at LEP-2 in the framework of the Standard and Minimal SuperSymmetric Models, strongly exploit the information from its bbar b decays. However, although this signature dominates the accessible mass range in these models, there are special cases of extended models with suppressed h -> bbar b couplings. Recently, complementary searches, performed without relying on b-quark identification, have enabled to reduce the model-dependence of the results, for both hZ and hA production mechanisms. The preliminary results obtained by the four LEP collaborations are presented. No evidence for a signal was found. Flavour independent bounds on Higgs boson production are given, and used to constrain specific scenarios.
