Collective Bands in Mo, Ru, and pd Nuclei and Chiral Bands in 106Mo
Abstract
Gamma-vibrational bands are extended to 14+ or 17+ in 104,106Mo, 108,110,112Ru, and 112,114,116Pd. Quite different staggering patterns are observed from the odd spin member pushed up relative to the even member and visa-versa. The one- and two-phonon γ-vibrational bands in 104,106Mo have nearly identical γ energies. A β-vibrational band is identified in 106Mo. Several two quasi-particle bands are found in 104,106Mo with moments of inertia essentially constant near the rigid body value. The first evidence for chiral doublet bands is found in an even-even nucleus based on a two quasi-neutron configuration with the ν g7/2 orbital nearly filled and the ν h11/2 one just filling.
