Wavelet Analysis in PB + PB Collisions at Cern-Sps
Abstract
We apply a multiresolution analysis on the phase space (0.005 < pT < 1.5GeV/c, 2.6 < η < 4.8) of the charged primary produced hadrons. A samle of central events from Pb+Pb interactions at 158 A GeV, recorded by the NA49(CERN-SPS) wide acceptance experiment, was analyzed. The purpose of the present event-by-event analysis, which is based on a two dimensional Discrete Wavelet Transform (DAU20), is to measure the dynamical fluctuations according to the scale. We conclude the absence of events inheriting fluctuations in the scales probed and for the finest resolution scale the strength of dynamical fluctuations is measured to be less than 2%.
