Coulomb Focusing Effects on Bremsstrahlung Spectrum from ECR Plasmas
Abstract
The Coulomb focusing effects are investigated on electron-ion bremsstrahlung emission rate from magnetized electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) plasmas. The bremsstrahlung emission rate is obtained for both the soft and hard photon energies. The result shows that the Coulomb focusing effects in Maxwellian distribution plasmas are found to be more significant than those in non-Maxwellian plasmas. It is also found that the Coulomb focusing effects on the bremsstrahlung spectrum significantly decrease with increasing non-Maxwellian character. The Coulomb focusing effects also decrease with increasing perpendicular temperature (Tperp).
