A new concept for the calculation of the mobile dislocation density in constitutive models of strain hardening
Abstract
A new concept for the calculation of the mobile dislocation density in constitutive models is presented. In contrast to earlier approaches this concept does not use rate equations to calculate the evolution of the mobile dislocation density but is based on the minimization of the flow stress in each increment. In comparison to a concept using a constant value for the mobile dislocation density the new concept results in a more realistic stress strain relation, especially when applied to strain rate change experiments.
