We have used recent surveys of radio continuum and H-alpha to investigate their effects on magnetic field determinations using pulsars. We have also made our own RM observations and supplemented these studies by using the recent RM observations of extragalactic radio sources. As a result of our position we concentrate on the analysis of the anticentre region of our Galaxy. We find that RM of pulsars are significantly affected by foreground HII regions. We highlight the importance of taking these effects into account in any systematic study of large-scale Galactic Magnetic field.
