Lemaitre-Tolman Universes and CMB Anisotropies
Abstract
Many papers have been devoted to estimate the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) anisotropy produced by isolated spherical cosmological structures. These estimations were performed using the Swiss-Cheese model and the Lemaitre-Tolman solution (LTS) of Einstein's equations. We focus our attention on a series of papers based on the LTS, in which the anisotropies produced by isolated Great Attractor-Like (GAL) objects and voids were studied in detail. The most interesting results were obtained in the case of very open universes (Ω < 0.5). Some of these results and the perspectives for future LTS estimates of CMB anisotropies are discussed.
