Double Gamow-Teller Excitation by Second-Order Born Approximation

Forward-angle cross sections of double charge exchange reactions with heavy ions are calculated in second-order plane-wave Born approximation. The calculated results indicate that the cross sections are in the order of nb/sr, and that those reactions do not simulate Gamow-Teller transitions, even at forward angles, as single charge exchage reactions.
