Jupiter
Abstract
At 5.2 AU from the Sun (table 1), Jupiter is the closest and the most massive of the GIANT PLANETS, which extend in the outer solar system up to heliocentric distances of 30 AU. Its mass amounts to 318 terrestrial masses, and its diameter is 11 times the terrestrial one (table 2).
