Uncertainties of Parton Distribution Functions and Their Predictions
Abstract
Recent progress is described on quantifying the uncertainties of parton distribution functions and of theoretical predictions that depend on parton distributions. Two complementary methods are presented -- the Lagrange multiplier method and the Hessian method. These can be used to analyze the uncertainties when model functions are fit globally to many experimental data points.
