Manifestation of Shell Effects in Quasi-Fission Reactions

In reactions used for the synthesis of superheavy elements the shell effects manifested themselves in the mass distribution of quasi-fission products, i.e., in an increased yield of nuclei with closed-shell, such as ²⁰⁸Pb and ^l32Sn. A model for the description of this effect is proposed.
