SOFIA

"The Stratospheric Observatory for Infrared Astronomy (SOFIA) is NASA's flagship mission for airborne science and astronomy. With flights from Moffett Field, California, the SOFIA program is a joint US-German mission to provide science enabling technologies for scientists in astrophysics, astrochemistry, and the developing field of astrobiology. This talk reviews SOFIA's current status along with the scientific promise of airborne astronomy expected in the years to come."
