Nuclear Physics at Riken RI Beam Factory
Abstract
RIKEN RI Beam Factory is an on-going project in Japan, which will break the limitation of intensity and energy of the present heavy-ion accelerator facilities, and provide much wider range of radioactive ions as secondary beams for various fields of basic science. It is scheduled that the first phase of the construction will be completed, and the world's most intense RI beams will be delivered in the year 2004. The second phase, which includes an electron-RI collider, has been also approved. In this report, the RIBF project and a unique opportunities at RIBF for nuclear physics will be introduced.
