Correlation effects in the generalized oscillator strength of the magnesium 3 1S-3 1P transition
Abstract
Correlation effects in the generalized oscillator strengths of the magnesium 3 1S-3 1P transition have been studied by comparing the results calculated within the random-phase approximation with exchange and within the Hartree-Fock approximation. The analysis indicates that at small momentum transfer K the most important correlation effect is the 3s-3p coupling, while at large K the important correlation effects are contributed mainly by the continuous states of the 2p-nd channel.
