On NOx Evolution in the Pacific during TRACE-P
Abstract
NO and NO2, collectively known as NOx, are intimately involved in the control of HOx production and ozone formation. In moderately high concentrations NOx incrases HOx production and therefore atmospheric oxidation; however at very high concentrations it leads to a net loss of HOx. We present NOx measurements from NASA's GTE TRACE-P field campaign, and examine NOx evolution in airmasses as they flow off the Asian continent into the Pacific Ocean.
