Coherent Control of Semiconductor Phonon Oscillations

We initiated strong coherent acoustic phonon oscillations in InGaN/GaN multiple-quantum-wells using a femtosecond ultraviolet excitation pulse, taking advantage of the large piezoelectric field in the InGaN wells. The coherent control of the initiated acoustic phonon oscillation was achieved using a second femtosecond ultraviolet control pulse.
