X-ray magnetic circular dichroism studies of Fe 4N under high-pressure
Abstract
We conducted high-pressure X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) experiments of a ferromagnetic iron nitride, γ'-Fe 4N, at Fe-K edge (7.111 keV) by using a diamond anvil cell. XMCD signal up to 10.9 GPa was successfully obtained. The magnitude of XMCD signal becomes smaller at 10.9 GPa, which indicates the pressure-induced demagnetization of Fe 4N.
