If thrice the number is 5 more than twice the number. Find the number.

Let the number is x. Thrice (i.e. three times) of x is 3x Twice (i.e. two times) of x is 2x Thrice the number is 5 more than twice the number. i.e 3x is 5 more than 2x Therefore, 3x = 5 + 2x 3x - 2x = 5 x = 5 Answer- Value of the number is 5

### Subject: Number Theory

Find the Greatest Common divisor (GCD) of 12 and 30.

Divisor of N means the number which can divide N without leaving any remainder. Divisors of 12 : 1,2,3,4,6,12 Divisors of 30 : 1,2,3,5,6,10,15,30 From above we can see some common divisors of 12 and 30 i.e. 1,2,3,6 Now from the common divisors, 6 is the highest. So, 6 is the highest number which can divide 12 and 30 both Therefore, the Greatest common divisor (GCD) of 12 and 30 is 6

### Subject: Algebra

Solve for x and y : 2x + 3y = 4 5x + 4y = 3

2x + 3y = 4 (1) 5x + 4y = 3 (2) First we need to eliminate any one variable so that we will get the value of another variable. Lets eliminate x first and for that multiply Equation (1) by 5 10x + 15y = 20 (3) and Multiply Equation (2) by 2 10x + 8y = 6 (4) Now Let's subtract equation (4) from equation (3) 10x + 15y = 20 - 10x + 8y = 6 -------------------- 7y = 14 Therefore y = 2 put this value of y (i.e.2) in equation (1) 2x + 3(2) = 4 x = -1 Answer- x = -1 and y =2
