Electric and Magnetic Fields From High-Speed Plasma Extended in the Geomagnetic Field
Abstract
Based on the experimental data acquired during high-altitude nuclear explosions and active geophysical rocket experiments the electric and magnetic fields generated during the plasma expansion with speed ~ 100 km/s in the magnetic field of the Earth at the altitudes 60 - 500 km are considered. The values of the electromagnetic pulses and its spectra near the plasma sources and on the surface of the Earth on the distances up to ~10000 km are discussed. Comparison with electric and magnetic fields of the natural origin is performed.
