Plasma and Magnetic Field Inside Magnetic Clouds: A Global Study
Abstract
We present a global study of the behavior of plasma and magnetic field inside magnetic clouds. Our starting point is a previous non-force-free model we developed for the three GSE components of the magnetic field. Using these expressions we obtain the theoretical behavior of the plasma pressure. We fit simultaneously this magnitude and the three components of B to the corresponding experimental data, taking as free parameters the components of the current density, the attitude of the cloud, the closest approach of the satellite and the plasma pressure at the cloud axis
