Supernova / Acceleration Probe: Education and Outreach
Abstract
The SNAP experiment will provide an opportunity to study the dark energy that drives the acceleration of the universe. The project will provide detailed measurements of thousands of supernovae. Coupled with this fundamental science mission, the SNAP Education and Public Outreach programs will bring the excitement of scientific inquiry directly into the hands of students and the public. SNAP E/PO includes K-12 activities and resources, teacher training, and research oppportunities for undergraduates, graduate students and educators. SNAP Education and Public Outreach has a broad range of partners including science museums, community colleges, universities and schools. SNAP is supported by the Department of Energy Office of High Energy Physics.
