Crossover from normal metallic ordering to tiny-moment ordering in the pressurized CeRh 2Si 2
Abstract
Pressure dependence of the antiferromagnetic transition temperature, TN, and the magnitude of the saturated sublattice moment, μ, of CeRh 2Si 2 has been investigated by means of neutron diffraction. The antiferromagnetism collapses under pressure of 1.1 GPa. By plotting μ, as a function of TN, it was discovered that the system undergoes, with increasing pressure, two distinctive regimes of ordering one after the other: In the low-pressure regime, μ is proportional to TN, while in the high-pressure regime, μ decreases much more rapidly than TN does.
