Effects of swift heavy ions on the dielectric properties of doped and undoped ammonium dihydrogen phosphate crystals
Nonlinear electro-optic ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (ADP) (pure and doped) crystals are irradiated with Si & Ag ions. The defect produced by ion irradiation is studied by means of dielectric measurements. The change in dielectric constant after irradiation is noted. The increase in dielectric constant is found to be dependent on dopants in the crystals and electronic energy loss in the crystals.
