CeRu 2Ge 2 at high pressure as an analogue of CeRu 2(Si 1- xGe x) 2
Abstract
The pressure dependence of the magnetic ordering temperatures of CeRu 2Ge 2 was investigated up to 11 GPa by electrical resistivity measurements in the temperature range 30 mK<T<300 K. The ferromagnetic ground state is easily suppressed and evidence for a differently ordered magnetic phase is found between 3.5 GPa<P<7.2 GPa. The magnetic to non-magnetic transition occurs at a critical pressure Pc=8.7 GPa. The similarity of the (T, P) diagram to the (T, x) diagram of CeRu 2(Si 1- xGe x) 2 is discussed.
